It"s the last day of the torch relay, opening at Southwest Jiaotong University on Wednesday morning and ending at Dong"an Lake Sports Park in the afternoon. A total of 124 bearers took part.

The weather may be poor, but the torchbearers say they feel honored and excited to take part in the event.

The torch relay for the games began in Sichuan on July 2 after passing through other Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shenzhen, Harbin, Yibin and Chongqing. As the last stage, the relay took place in 20 universities and colleges in Chengdu, finally arriving at its final destination ready for the opening day of the competition to begin.
